Worcester

Resting on the banks of the River Severn, Worcester is an ancient cathedral city, with roots dating back to the Iron Age. Famous for cricket, porcelain and, of course, Worcestershire Sauce, the city has many beautiful buildings and places of interest, making it an ideal tourist spot.

Worcester Cathedral was built in the late 1000s, and has a particularly attractive 16th century chapel built by Henry VII in memory of his son Arthur. Other places of historical interest around the city include the English Civil War Centre, which is housed in a 15th century timber-framed building, and is devoted to the history of England’s Civil War.

Being such a bustling city, there is still much on offer when the shops and museums are closed. Whether you fancy a trip to the theatre, a delicious meal or you want to take in the latest movie, Worcester has the ideal place for you to go.
