Salisbury

Salisbury has 6,000 years of history. Historical sites include Salisbury Cathedral with the tallest spire in England at 404 feet. Its style is pure Early English, and there are many monuments of outstanding interest, notably that of William Longespee. The 13th century cloisters and the oldest clock in England can be seen in the Cathedral.

Stonehenge is nearby and so too, the massive Iron Age hillfort of Old Sarum, which is two miles to the north. Salisbury is at the western end of the Clarendon Way which leads to Winchester. Another nearby attraction is 17th century Wilton House.
