Shoreham-by-Sea Midway between Brighton and Worthing, Shoreham-by-Sea is a coastal town of great antiquity, with settlements having been in the area since Roman times. The town is dominated by the Norman church of St Mary de Haura and there are many other historical buildings including the local museum – Marlipins – which is believed to date back to the 14th century. There are also stylish examples of modern architecture including the Art Deco terminal of Shoreham Airport - the UK’s oldest operational airport. At the airport, there is also a Museum of D-Day Aviation, with artifacts, engines, a replica Spitfire and much more. With the coast and the South Downs on the doorstep, there is ample opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors - whether you want a quiet stroll or an exhilarating watersport experience there is sure to be something to suit.
