Chichester is a charming town near the south coast. One of its crowning features is its historic Cathedral, which has double aisles on each side of the nave, and contains Saxon sculpture and the famous Bernardi pictures. Elsewhere in the town, signs of its Roman heritage are in evidence, varying from the remains of the town walls to nearby Fishbourne Roman Palace, which is a superior example of the craftsmanship of this period.

Chichester is home to the excellent Festival Theatre, where visitors can see musicals, plays, comedy and more. There are also many pubs and restaurants in which to celebrate an evening out. A wander around the town in the daylight will reveal modern shops mixed with attractive Georgian buildings, and it is only a short drive away from from a variety of local attractions.
