Bognor Regis In 680 AD, Bognor Regis, then known as Bucgan Ora was a small fishing hamlet that by the 18th Century became a seaside resort for smugglers. Transformed into an exclusive bathing resort by Sir Richard Hotham in 1787, and frequented by George V in the early 1900’s, Bognor Regis remains an attractive holiday venue for UK residents and international parties as well as a popular place to fish and sail. Butlins South Coast World is one of the major visitor attractions, yet many people enjoy the town’s award winning beaches, the annual Bird Rally, Bognor Regis Museum, Marine Park Gardens and Hotham Park where you can spot a number of unusual trees or enjoy the national Lathyrus collection. With great transport links to this pleasant seaside town and a variety of accommodation, visitors can reach and stay in Bognor Regis with ease. The town centre is pedestrianised and the Edwardian shopping Arcade links the town with the sea front where children can enjoy Punch and Judy and many of the other attractions associated with the English seaside. Bognor Regis can be found in the county of West Sussex and has been compared to neighbouring Brighton.
