Like neighbouring Brierley Hill, Stourbridge has an industrial tradition of glass and iron making. The glass making began with Hungarian refugees in the 16th century. Stourbridge has a belt of countryside around its east and southern sides. Nearby is Hagley Hall which has a famous landscape park, and there is an information centre on the nearby Clent Hills.
