Solihull

Solihull in the West Midlands is located on the Warwickshire edge of Birmingham in generous open space and is a residential area for commuters who work in nearby towns.

The town is a blend of modern offices with shopping centre and old houses, some of which are Tudor and can be found in the High Street. Solihull Hall and 16th century Berry Hall are both timber framed, and well restored Berry Hall is partly moated and well worth seeing. To the south of the town is Malvern Park Farm, a fine example of Warwickshire architecture, which is now a school, and in contrast, to the north is the National Exhibition Centre and Birmingham International Airport.

The parish church of St Alphege dominates the town centre and was frequented by Mary Tudor and the last Benedictine Abbot of Winchester. Its tower is 168 foot and the peal of bells can often be heard throughout the town.

With many local attractions like Castle Bromwich and Avoncroft Museum and the towns situation in the heart of the English countryside, there’s much to do here.
