Warwick Warwick

A pleasant town on the Avon, famous for its castle, which is in a splendid state of preservation. Guy's Tower is 128 feet high, and has walls 10 feet thick. Caesar's Tower is 147 feet high and built in solid rock. In the Great Hall is the mace of Warwick, the Kingmaker. There are good pictures. The Leycester Hospital dates from Henry VI's reign and is a very attractive set of buildings. St. Mary's church contains a 15th century Beauchamp chapel of great beauty. 17th century market hall houses the Warwickshire Museum. Nearby to Warwick is the dramatic ruined Kenilworth Castle.
