A busy port inside the mouth of the River Tyne. Here fishing boats unload their catches, a market sells their stock, and chandlers shops can be found. From North Shields you can also catch ferries to Scandinavia. Two other attractions of North Shields are the Stephenson Railway museum including a loco built in 1826, and ?Wet & Wild' a new indoor waterpark. The steam-powered trawler was first developed here.
