Farnham

Farnham, is an old character town overlooked by its 12th century Castle which was built in 1138 by Henry of Blois, Bishop of Winchester. It’s situated in the Valley of Wey, south of Aldershot, home of the British Army in the county of Surrey. It’s lively town centre is a mixture of interesting shops, cafes and galleries and here you can find the Surrey Institute of Art and Design and the Farnham Maltings Art Centre, where a range of workshops and contemporary design displays are regularly on show.

This character town has ample surrounding countryside, which includes Farnham Park where the Bishops deer used to roam and Frensham Ponds, a popular setting for fishing and sailing, located three miles south of Farnham. Other out of town attractions include the ruins of Waverley Abbey and the historic Forest of Alice Holt.

The town is a mixture of old and new with modern office developments blending well with the handsome Georgian houses that line Castle and West Street.
