Town Guide - almost every destination in the UK
Dorking

Dorking is an ancient market town set in beautiful countryside. Nestling near Box Hill and Leith Hill, which is the highest place in the county, it is an attractive town with a great deal of charm.

The town centre is home to a mixture of quaint antique shops and familiar high street names. Just off the busy streets is St Martin’s Church, which was built in the 1800s and offers a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of town life. One unusual attraction in the town are the caves. Man-made, they run underneath the town and are rumoured to have been used as religious meeting and alcoholic storage places! A little way outside the town is Denbies Wine Estate, which offers visitors an insight into wine-making, as well as tastings and the opportunity to purchase their produce.
