Hamilton

Situated 10 miles south east of Glasgow, Hamilton is a surprisingly attractive industrial town, once Scotland's largest coal mining town. Hamilton has now established itself as a commercial and administrative centre, with attractions such as a museum, racecourse, good shopping and various leisure activities. In the grounds of Strathclyde Country Park lies a fascinating chapel, famous for its acoustics. A 15-second echo, the longest of any Scottish building, makes speech impossible.
