Bath

The world heritage city of Bath was founded in 850 BC by the leper King Bladud who by chance bathed in the warm and bubbling mud at Bath Spa and cured his disease.

This beautiful city is perhaps most famous for the Roman Spa and holiday resort of Aquae Sulis situated 20 feet under the city. It's most splendid feature is the 70 foot Great Bath and today the museum protects the fallen pillars and crumbling walls of the actual Aquae Sulis itself. Above the remains of ancient roman occupation, the city is home to the breathtaking Georgian architecture of the Pulteney Bridge, the Circus, the Queens Square and the Crescents.

Though badly bombed in World War Two, Bath is now once again one of the most elegant cities in the World, with attractions ranging from the Bath Postal Museum to 15th Century Bath Abbey enlightening visitors from all over the world.
