Crieff A sheltered market town on a ridge of the Knock of Crieff, extremely popular with summer visitors owing to its delightful situation amidst woods. Stocks are to be seen at the Town Hall. Prince Charlie stayed here on his way northwards in 1746. Highland gathering towards the end of August. Golf. Fishing. A good centre for exploring the Sma' Glen, near Gleneagles, one of Scotland's foremost golf-courses and hotels. Nearby are the amazing Drummond Castle Gardens.
