Kettering, sixteen miles north of Northampton is an ancient, vigorous market town specialising in shoe manufacturing. It is on the river Ise and has a prominent church. The town contains the well known leisure park, Wicksted Park and one of many attractions nearby is the very strange Rushton Triangular Lodge.
