Leicester Leicester

A cathedral City on the Fosse Way, with a Roman wall (called Jewry Wall). Later the city was under occupation by the Danes. At the time of the Domesday Book, Leicester had 322 homes dominated by a Norman castle. Norman architecture can still be seen at the Church of St. Mary de Castro, where Geoffrey Chaucer was married and King Henry VI was knighted.

Historic sites include the Guildhall building, Newark House Museum of Social history and the John Doran Museum on industrial history, as well as Bradgate Park and Kirby Muxloe, fortified manor house. Many different communities have chosen to settle in Leicester and there are many attractions sites including the De Montfort Hall and Leicester City Football Club.
