The most famous holiday town in England has to be Blackpool. With its long sandy beaches, hair-raising rides and endless nightlife, it is easy to see why so many visitors flock here every year.

One of the first stops on any itinerary has to be the Tower. This distinctive creation looms on the skyline like a miniature Eiffel, and there is much to see and do once there. The Pleasure Beach is another famous stop. This legendary slice of the British seaside combines thriving nightlife with a host of tourist attractions ranging from the Sea Life Centre to Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks.

One of the most famous of all the attractions has to be the yearly Illuminations, which dazzle and delight visitors. First appearing many decades ago, the spectacular lights have been drawing tourists regularly. The town itself has been popular since the 18th century, when the first guest house opened. The introduction of the railway in the 1840s meant that people from a much greater radius had access to Blackpool, and over the following years, its reputation and its facilities increased to their present standard.
