Margate A very popular holiday resort, at north eastern end of Kent. Glorious sands and plenty of amusements and fine shops. In 1766 it was described by Gray as Bartholomew Fair by the Seaside. Town has a museum, Shell Grotto and chalk caverns. Also lifeboat station. 'Dreamland' Fun Park and other seaside entertainments.
