The capital of Skye, located on a sheltered bay on the island's west side.An excellent centre for excursions in all directions. Prince Charlie's Cave accessible by boat. Storr Rock (2,360 feet) gives good exercise to the climbers, for the ascent is rough, but it should not be attempted in bad weather. The views from the summit are glorious. The church of St. Columba is very fine, and has a memorial window to Flora Macdonald.
