Located just outside of the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, School Cottages Bed & Breakfast and self-catering Holiday Cottage Bath offers a high standard of accommodation, comfort & service. Awarded 4 Stars and 'Highly Commended' by the AA we were also featured in the September 09 edition of House Beautiful Magazine.


Our high expectations of quality, attention to detail and service are reflected in the standard of our accommodation. Our tasteful en suite rooms offer our guests affordable luxury and comfort. We also provide a cosy guest lounge with log fires, pretty cottage gardens and free off-street parking.

Our delicious breakfasts offer wide choice of options made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients including locally made sausages, free range eggs from our own chickens and a selection of home-made preserves.

The village shop and pubs serving good food are just a short walk away, with many other excellent country pubs nearby.

Choose from our double, twin or super king rooms all en suite and with 22’ flat screen digital TVs, or for an extra special treat, our Spa Suite with its own sitting room/dressing room, bedroom with king size bed, flat screen digital TV with Free-view and DVD, and of course the luxury en suite bathroom with large jacuzzi spa bath.

Just 2 miles from the popular wedding venue ‘Priston Mill’ we are an excellent base for wedding guests. Our romantic Spa Suite is the perfect bridal suite. We offer a wedding package which includes champagne, flowers, room service breakfast and a late check-out allowing guests more time to relax and enjoy the Suite after the ‘big day’.




Our charming self-catering holiday cottage sleeps 4, the master bedroom having a king size double bed and the second bedroom which can either be arranged with children’s twin beds or another king size double. There is also a sofa bed in the sitting rooms for additional guests. The cottage is available for either full weeks or short breaks. This attractive and comfortable holiday cottage is furnished and decorated to a very high standard. It retains many of its original features and at the same time offers all modern comforts.

The accommodation comprises of oak porch; sitting room with exposed stone and beams, fireplace with wood-burning stove, digital TV with Free-view and DVD; fully equipped kitchen and utility room, including dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave oven and washing machine; bathroom with bath, shower, wash basin and WC; and the two bedrooms.

We provide a welcome hamper including tea, coffee, milk, cake, and fresh eggs from our own hens. Guests can also choose to take breakfast in the Bed & Breakfast. Towels, tea-towels, toiletries, bed linen and logs are all provided.

The cottage is well-equipped to cater for babies and children. We provide a travel cot, high chair, stair-gate, baby bath, changing mat as well as an emergency baby box for those little essentials you might forget to bring!

We have large gardens and plenty of space for children to play as well as patio areas where parents can relax. We also have various animals to keep the kids amused including pygmy goats, tortoises, cats and chickens!

Location We are located just off the A39 southwest of Bath. We are within easy reach of Wells, Glastonbury, Bristol, Cheddar, the Mendips and Stonehenge, with many National Trust properties and areas of outstanding natural beauty just a short drive away. School Cottages, Farmborough is therefore an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful region. We are also only 20 minutes away from Bristol Airport and are fluent in German, French & Italian.
