Welwyn Garden City Welwyn Garden City is located in the north west corner of Hertfordshire between Stevenage and St Albans on the northern periphery of London. Made famous by social reformer and town planning pioneer Ebenezer Howard’s Garden City movement, the industrial and residential areas of the town are laid out along tree lined boulevards with a neo-Georgian town centre. Although a relatively new town, there are a number of historical places of interest in the area. Hatfield House and Garden, and Knebworth House are fine examples of favoured tourist attractions and the Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service maintain Roman Baths, built over 1,700 years ago, which to this day are preserved in a steel vault underneath the A1(M). 126 acre Stanborough Park is also popular with visitors to the area.
