Letchworth

Letworth, the first Garden City was founded in 1903 by social reformer Ebenezer Howard, town planning pioneer of the Garden City movement. The industrial and residential areas of the town are laid out along tree lined boulevards leading to the town centre, complimenting open spaces and recreational amenities, a modern leisure centre, open air swimming pool, cinema and Letchworth Museum and Art Gallery.

Although a relatively new town, Letchworth Hall dates back to Jacobean times and the First Garden City Heritage Museum celebrates the town’s history.

Letchworth is a growing residential, commercial and industrial town drawing visitors from all parts of the world to see and study this, the world's first planned Garden City.
