Famous for its great docks from which the ill-fated Titanic set sail in 1912, they are now home to the QE2 and some of the world's grandest ocean liners.The remains of the Medieval Town Walls are among the best preserved in the UK with the massive Bargate dominating the modern shopping precinct and the Westgate from which Henry V sailed for Agincourt and the Pilgrims left for America.Southampton is the 'Home of Ocean Sailing' hosting events such as the BT Global Challenge and Tall Ships 2000.
