Hillingdon

Approximately 14 miles west of Marble Arch, Hillingdon is located at the outer reaches of London with the River Colne forming its ‘outer’ edge. To the west of Ruislip and Northwood there is a large area of countryside which includes Bayhurst Wood Country Park.

Its main town, Uxbridge, is home to Brunel University as well as an Underground RAF control centre from which the Battle of Britain was largely directed. Heathrow Airport also falls within the Borough’s boundary. The history of the borough was first recorded in the Domesday book in 1086.

The borough includes the following postcodes: UB3-UB4, UB7-UB11, HA4, HA6 and TW6.
