Harrow Harrow borough is situated to the north west of Greater London. It is a very ‘green’ borough, with many parks and open spaces. However there is also a thriving business community and a wide range of shops and facilities. Perhaps familiar to most people because of Harrow School, the word Harrow is Anglo-Saxon for ‘sacred grove’ or ‘temple’. It is believed that there may have been such a place on top of Harrow-on-the-Hill, which is currently home to the aforementioned school and to St Mary’s Church, which dates back over 900 years.
