Falkirk

Falkirk lies central to the great scottish cities of Glasgow and With road and rail links to surrounding Scotland, Falkirk became an important industrial centre, where in 1760 the Carron Ironworks were built. Guns for Nelsons army were produced here and there were iron foundaries and chemical works situated in a nearby coalfield with the Forth Clyde Canal passing through. This industry helped in the growth of the town.

Local attractions in the area include the Bannockburn Heritage Centre as well as the town Cultural Centre with its contemporary art gallery and seasonal events.
