Town Guide - almost every destination in the UK
Eastbourne

Eastbourne is a seaside resort on the south coast of England. Its relatively high sunshine levels and low rainfall have made it a popular place with tourists, and it has many attractions and facilities. Its popularity during Victorian times led to a great deal of growth in the town, and some of the town’s distinctive architecture is from this period like the pier, which in summer is home to the Birdman competition.

If you like to enjoy the fresh air, there is much to do from walks along the beach or at Beachy Head, to a trip in a pleasure boat, to Fort Fun – a great place for children. However there are many things to do indoors too. The Wishtower Puppet Museum has fun and educational puppet displays, whereas The Museum of Shops has fantastic recreations from the 1850s to 1950s. Alternatively, if you are seeking a cultural experience visit the Towner Art Gallery, which holds exhibitions and talks.

In the evening, there is still lots on, from a trip to the one of the theatres or nightclubs, to dinner at a choice of restaurants.
