A clean well laid-out seaside resort to the west of Hastings, with five miles of sea frontage. There is a 13th century stained glass window in the Church. The De La Warr Pavilion is a classic example of 1930s architecture. The town has a museum of costume. Nearby inland attraction is the town of Battle with the site of Britain's most famous military engagement.
