Welcome to Blandford Forum's Townpage

Largely destroyed by a great fire in 1731 the town was rebuilt in just 30 years. The centre of Blandford is today one of the most perfect Georgian townscapes to be found anywhere in the country, with good quality architecture and building materials. The home of the famous Dorset brewers, Hall & Woodhouse, the town rests peacefully on the banks of the River Stour, which flows lazily southwards, passing below the six arches of the fine bridge. The Royal Signals Museum, situated at Blandford Garrison, retraces the history and role of communications in wartime.
