Our Work
This is a grade 2 listed building built C1580. The work was carried out initially by a builder that specialised in renovation work. We were called in after the work was complete to do a report. By the photographs you can see that the work was not carried out properly. Sterling Timber and Damp then commenced carrying out the work again by installing structural timbers to the whole base and middle of building.

This large barn was in the process of being completely refurbished to living accommodation. Sterling Timber and Damp was called in to clean this barn. Please note: We do not use hard abrasives when undertaking this type of work, but use a very soft recycled abrasive known as powder blasting, and in this way safeguard the timbers. Sterling Timber and Damp is one of the only companies certified by Hodge Clemco. We have also undertaken work abroad to carry out architectural blasting.
This work took place in a small cottage at Great Baddow. The work was carried out by hand by uncovering all of the timbers to the ceiling. In the middle of the room was a metal lintel which was exposed and recovered with oak. All of this work was uncovered by hand and cleaned by hand. All new ceiling were put in between joists and French polished. We hope that the below photographs will give you an idea of the various works and experience that Sterling Timber and Damp can offer the client.
