JAIMIE CAHLIL is a BACP Accredited Counsellor / Psychotherapist providing a reputable established Psychotherapy & Counselling Service Oxford. (*BACP Membership No: 564390)
COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY OXFORD offers confidential support and help in facing and actively working through your difficulties. Especially if you are new to therapy, deciding to engage in this process may require courage and a certain inner strength. I will ‘meet’ you and work with you as you are - whether you come in crisis, or are prompted by a specific issue (simple or complex)... or you come perhaps to deepen your own sense of self, to develop an inner ease and self-knowing, to explore the spiritual aspect of being, or to find your way more clearly on your journey ‘home’. Every one of us sometimes could use some kind of therapeutic support & guidance. The Integrative & Transpersonal counsellor & psychotherapist considers your whole well-being, working with you towards mind-body-soul integration. Counselling tends to be a shorter process than psychotherapy – though there is no absolute dividing line, and the two are often intertwined. NOTE: ethical counselling does not offer specific advice. Effective therapy is self-empowering, helping you develop your own inner therapist.

COUNSELLING is appropriate when the focus is specifically issue-based and fairly straightforward – perhaps requiring crisis resolution, processing of emotional/psychological stress, more effective coping strategies, or a more workable attitude to life. Counselling (and psychotherapy) may be used to explore a wide spectrum of issues: relationship and relational problems (intimacy, trust, abuse, separation, bereavement, grief, non-verbal communication); sexuality – including sexual orientation; identity - including gender identity; emotional & mood imbalance – including complex psychological difficulties; all kinds of fears & anxieties; and your relationship with your self - including self esteem, self confidence & self assertiveness. Please note: where the issue is complex and/or deep-rooted, the process of therapy will require a longer time commitment.

PSYCHOTHERAPY. The deeper broader nature of the psychotherapy process is designed to address deep-rooted and/or complex and/or wider issues. These may include issues of early wounding (childhood traumas, fears and insecurities), and/or your essential relationship with your self (mind-body-soul). As you become increasingly at ease within your self, this will show in your relationship with others, as well as your life and sense of meaning as a whole. Transpersonal & Integrative psychotherapy offers you the opportunity for deep change and integration… and may be viewed as an invaluable investment for the quality of your life - now and continuing. Psychotherapy is an inherently transformative process, often prompting profound self/soul exploration. Negotiated as we work together, this therapy may involve dreamwork, intuitive sense, imaginative/creative process, and subtle body awareness, towards authenticity, integrity and your deepest truth....
