Patricia Adams provides a Counselling Service Cheltenham that offers both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling at The Cheltenham Clinic of Chiropractic and Acupuncture, 199 Bath Road, Cheltenham. I have been in private practice for seven years and prior to that worked with Gloucestershire Association for Mental Health for several years.
I originally qualified as a counsellor at the Royal Forest of Dean College in Gloucestershire and obtained a post graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at The University of Wales Newport. I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

I attend regular supervision to ensure that I am working within ethical boundaries with my clients as well as maintaining regular self-development training. Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance are held.
Referrals may be made through a GP or medical consultant, clinics, individual self-referral or even recommendation by previous clients. My goal is to work closely with you to help you gain the tools and techniques required to provide change to your negative thoughts and behavioural patterns.
Treatment can prove to be challenging and I have created an environment that allows you to relax and just be yourself. I can also offer late appointments to suit a clients schedule. You will not be judged and I provide a safe haven where you can explore emotions and behaviours that you want to change connected to:
- anger
- anxiety including panic attacks, phobias and OCD
- depression
- eating problems
- loss
- low self-esteem
- stress
