Patricia Adams provides a Counselling Service Cheltenham that offers both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling at The Cheltenham Clinic of Chiropractic and Acupuncture, 199 Bath Road, Cheltenham. I have been in private practice for six years and prior to that worked with Gloucester Association for Mental Health for several years.
I originally qualified as a counsellor at the Royal Forest of Dean College in Gloucestershire and obtained a post graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at The University of Wales Newport. I am an Individual Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

I attend regular supervision to ensure that I am working within ethical boundaries with my clients as well as maintaining regular self-development training. Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance are held.
Referrals may be made through GP or medical consultant, the Clinic, individual self-referral or even recommendation by previous clients. My goal is to work closely with you to help you gain the tools and techniques required to provide changes to your self-destructive behavioural patterns.
Treatment can prove to be challenging and I have created an environment that allows you to relax and just be yourself. You will not be judged and I provide a safe haven where you can explore emotions and behaviours that you want to change connected to:
- anger
- anxiety including panic attacks, phobias and OCD
- depression
- eating problems
- loss
- low self-esteem
- stress
