Slough Extensive town with large number of factories, north of Windsor.Sir William Herschel (1738-1822) made many far-reaching discoveries in astronomy here using a telescope he built in his garden. Close to the wonderful Burnham Beeches and Stoke Poges, immortalised by Gray's "Elegy". The poet is buried in Stoke Poges churchyard to north of Slough. Nearby are Eton College and Windsor Castle.
